Individual Therapy
1-1 Somatic Psychotherapy
*My waiting list is currently full. You may be interested in some of my other offerings.
These individual sessions offer you a gentle and supportive space to safely explore the felt sense of your body and to deepen your connection with your own inner wisdom. Weaving together depth psychology, somatic psychotherapy and breath and movement practices, you are invited to slow down and attune to the language deep inside your body- coming to know your bodily sensations, listening to your patterns of holding and tension and the ways in which your body may be stuck in fight/flight/freeze/fawn survival responses as a result of past trauma.
By tending to your body in this way, you will sharpen your instincts and intuition, strengthen your somatic boundaries and come to know what can support and resource these holding patterns. This enhances your capacity to regulate your nervous system which supports you in cultivating a sense of safety within and in being in nourishing relationship with your own self and others.
Learning to inhabit the felt sense of your body is also a doorway into presence, a way for you to access your own aliveness and creativity and to come to know what brings you joy and vitality.
Sessions take place weekly and are 50 minutes. Each week you will be offered a rich variety of resources, somatic practices, guided meditations and journal prompts to support and strengthen your process. Sessions are offered in-person (Cork City) or online.
*My integrative approach draws on my ten years of experience as a psychologist and somatic therapist specialising in the area of trauma, as well as my trainings and knowledge in depth psychology, somatic psychotherapy, emotion focused therapy, psychoanalytic theory, internal family systems, nervous system regulation and mindfulness based practices. My approach is also shaped by my love for the journey of the soul and how we can draw on creative approaches for healing and growth such as imagery, dream work, mythology, art and dance.
*Please note: as this is in-depth therapeutic work, it is preferable that you have some prior experience with personal development work.
